Welcome to the 2023 Redwood Area Campmeeting Spring Letter

Dear friends and loved ones

This has been a crazy transition from 2022/2023 hasn’t it?

Up here, at 250’ above sea level and 24 miles from the ocean, we’ve been shaken, blown, rained, hailed and snowed on. Like many of you, we’ve enjoyed the chorus of generators and the silence of the snow falling, lakes in the campground, to the wind shaking windows and earthquakes shaking everything, over and over, to the occasional “if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound” trees (6 at last count) falling, to the well pump coming apart in the ground, and even to some bulls challenging us coming towards them in the camp and road.

We have come through the COVID experience, with limited attendance to ramping up again.

There have been many changes in campmeetings around the country as well, and we are not immune. They are affecting us as well.

We have had two board meetings recently. During those sessions, there have been conversations with conference leaders regarding the future of Redwood Camp Meeting and its sustainability and…

We will be having Redwood Area Campmeeting 2023 – July 23-29

We will have a constituency meeting on the Friday of camp meeting like always. We need all the elected representatives present. If you have suggestions or input, please contact a representative to the constituency or send your ideas to the camp so they can be included in the discussion.

It is with your support (not just financially, but especially with your time and energy) that we will recover and grow.
We need you to help with YOUR camp, if you are close enough,
to come join us in doing the yearly camp makeover to prepare for campmeeting.

What do we mean? While you are here, if you look up at the top of the page, you will see two pages that need your attention (see a photo below)– please look and see what you can help with.
There are plenty of things to do. Come with a picnic, and have some fun with us:

Please join us on your knees, hearts, voices, and hands, as we plan the future of the camp.
